For Speaking Engagements
Shira’s author events and public speaking engagements include direct readings from Men and Feminism or her previous books.
Shira is also available to speak about a wide variety of topics, both in a straight lecture format and in a more interactive “town hall” style, including:
- Pornography and masculinity — Shira doesn’t present a porn-is-bad argument, but instead discusses some of the complexities of the issue
- Masculinity and pop culture — hypermasculinity issues as well as the new man-as-kidult theme
- Violence and sexual assault as men’s issues — how and why it’s a men’s issue, and what’s being done by men in terms of prevention
- Politics of Parenthood — as a (former) teen mom and an expert in pop culture and gender issues, Shira speaks clearly about the politics of parenthood and why we need more support for all kinds of families.
